Action by Greenpeace in the North Sea: Palm Oil that kills the climate and forests is Not Welcome

Greenpeace today protested against a shipment of Indonesian palm oil en route to Rotterdam by painting "Forest Crime" on the side of the Isola Corallo. The tanker is transporting palm oil from Indonesia's largest palm oil producer, Sinar Mas, to Europe and was already subject to a Greenpeace action six weeks ago in the port of Dumai in Sumatra, Indonesia.

GMOs potential threat to fertility

A study published today by the Austrian government identified that genetically modified (GMO) crops pose serious threats to reproductive health. In one of the very few long-term feeding studies ever conducted with GMO crops, the fertility of mice fed with a variety of Bt corn, a genetically-modified organism (GMO) was found to be severely impaired, with fewer offspring being produced than by mice fed on natural crops. Considering the severity of the potential threat to human health and reproduction, Greenpeace is demanding a recall of all GMO food and crops from the market, worldwide.
