Greenpeace urges Hong Kong’s drivers to step up for the climate tomorrow by walking, using public transport or even cycle to their destinations instead of using their vehicles on the World Carfree Day. Activists from the green group imprint watermarks by high-pressure steam which spells “Stop Driving, Save climate” on popular pavements namely the Central Government Offices East Wing, HSBC headquarter building, Revenue Tower, Sogo and Tsim Sha Tsui Ferry Pier to remind the public of the event.

Over 100 Climate Heroes Embrace the Street for Climate

Over a hundred cyclers echo the World Carfree Day today by joining Greenpeace “Hong Kong Carfree Day – Climate Hero Cycle Tour”. They cycle a 10-km roundtrip from downtown Central to Tin Hau as an act to support a successful global climate deal at the year-end Copenhagen Conference and urge the public to switch from private cars to public transport, walking or cycling on September 22nd.
